The BET Hip Hop Awards are always a mirror into urban fashion! Compared to other award shows, guests of the BET Hip Hop Awards sport more casual looks that exhibit the best in street wear. This year the “green” carpet saw lots of fall-appropriate styles, and a muted color palette. Stars like B.O.B and MC Lyte choose to follow this trend by donning black and white monochromatic looks.
Monochromatic looks essentially maintain the same or similar color throughout. This type of styling was popular on the fall fashion runways and is also popular in street fashion this season. Check out the best looks from the Awards to see how stars keep it stylish!
MC Lyte rocked a simple monochromatic look, the focal piece being an amazing black and white leather blazer.
Following the trend of casual street wear, Nelly sported an understated black screen-printed sweatshirt, accessorized by layered chains and wrist wear.
Wearing an amazing mini sequin dress and chained garter, Eve stunned on the carpet. This look is high fashion and Hip Hop in one complete look.
Kevin Hart kept with the season’s trend in his black and white Kenzo ‘Eye’ Sweater.
Snoop Lion showed up wearing a bandana-printed shirt and dark denim — a perfect representation of West Coast style.
Lola Monroe showed off her infamous curves in a leather two piece skirt set. The outfit combined both patent and matte leather fabrics for a unique twist to a popular street look.
B.O.B looked fresh in Cupcake Mafia’s Trill Joggers and long black button-up.
Lil Mama wore a BCBG MaxAzria Runway set and simple strappy black heels. Two-piece sets have been popular throughout the year and are making their way into fall street style.
Future represented his hometown Atlanta with this casual sweatshirt and Timberlands look. This look exhibits true wearable street fashion.
