With my popcorn popped and my Instagram and Twitter feeds at my fingertips, I was ready to watch this year’s highly anticipated 56th Annual Grammy Awards. While others were rooting for their favorite pop stars to win in various categories, my eyes were glued to the screen to see which celebrity would blow viewers away with their red carpet looks. Several curvy artists made breathtaking appearances, while others left us wondering what happened in the dressing room. Here’s a shortlist of the most buzzworthy plus size looks.
Erica Campbell of gospel duo Mary Mary wore a peach lace assemble chosen by her sister/stylist GooGoo. After reposting this photo on my personal Instagram profile to get an opinion of what my followers thought, the consensus was simple: Nice color, too much fabric.
The Queen, Queen Latifah that is, looked nothing short of regal in this sparkling off-the-shoulder black gown. I loved everything about this look, from the classy bob cut to the simple but sultry makeup worn.
Singer and songwriter Mary Lambert, who is featured on Macklemore’s hit song “Same Love,” walked away with a Grammy that night and looked fabulous on the red carpet. With intricate floral detail on the front of the dress and absence of jewelry, her chic pinup look was complete and gorgeous.
Gospel singer Tasha Cobbs posted this picture of her elegant dress on her Instagram page, and I gladly “double tapped” my approval and admiration for the gown that just so happens to be in my favorite color 🙂
That’s our Grammy Awards curvy fashion recap. What did you think of these looks? Leave me a comment below.
