Miss Iowa and Miss South Carolina Win Preliminary Awards First Night of the 2016 Miss America Competition

Atlantic City, NJ (September 8, 2015) – During the first of three preliminary nights for the 2016 Miss America Competition in Boardwalk Hall, Miss Iowa, Taylor Wiebers, was named Tuesday night’s preliminary Talent winner for her vocal performance of “Don’t Forget Me” from the musical TV series “Smash.” Taylor will receive a $2,000 scholarship. Also capturing the spotlight was Miss South Carolina, Daja Dial, who was the preliminary Lifestyle and Fitness winner in a turquoise swimsuit. Daja will receive a $1,000 scholarship.
