DAYTONA, FL (FNN News) – Daytona International Speedway President Joie Chitwood and Country 500 Producer and Director Quinn Davis unveiled the full lineup for Country 500 at the Daytona International Speedway this morning. The massive country music festival will feature country’s biggest stars over three days and three nights Memorial Day weekend, May 27-29, 2016.

Country 500, also called “The Great American Music Fest at Daytona,” will include performances by Jason Aldean, Willie Nelson, Kid Rock, Luke Bryan, Lady Antebellum, Trace Adkins, Florida Georgia Line, Jennifer Nettles, Dwight Yoakam, Little Big Town, Mac Powell, Tyler Farr, and many others.

Daytona International Speedway (DIS)’s partnership with Davis’s company, Festival Productions, Inc. (FPI) to produce Country 500 was spawned from conversations between ISC (International Speedway Corp.) and AEG, one of the world’s largest music promotion companies—with which FPI is a partner. Davis told FNN News that AEG broached the idea of having a music festival inside the DIS track, and both AEG and ISC agreed it was a great idea.

“So when you talk about a big outdoor multi-stage music festival, food and crafts…We do the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival—that’s what we do,” Davis recalled to FNN News. “So they turned to us and said, ‘You sound like the kind of people that ought to do something like this.’”

With construction on Daytona Rising only seventy days from completion, Chitwood wanted to continue DIS’s legacy of doing things big and bold. “We do a good job in racing—it’s in our DNA, that’s who we are,” DIS President Chitwood told FNN News. “But when you’re talking about four hundred million dollars in construction, one of our goals was to find out what content or events we can add to the list.” He explained that DIS’s goal is to show the entertainment industry that the “World Center of Racing” is ready to compete for special events. “I’m excited,” Chitwood told FNN News. “I hope everybody in Volusia County, Central Florida, Daytona Beach, is excited, because we’ve got a venue that rises above, and it’s going to be something that we’re going to be able to utilize for many years to come.”

The Country 500 will happen in DIS’s Infield, and will include the Bluebird Theater, which will seat 4,000 people, the largest of any single theater. Campers and RVs will also have a clear view of the stage from their designated area in the Infield. Camping tickets, as well as three-day weekend passes and VIP packages, are now on sale.
